Keen travellers are always going to be especially eager for Australia, as it has so much to offer and is one of those top places that everyone wants to visit at least once... .If you have been to Australia, you will know this feeling well, and it’s likely that you are keen on returning too. But it’s also possible that next time you might want to see a different side of Australia, something which you might not have been expecting. Everyone knows about the surf and sand element to Australian travel - but what else is there? As it happens, there’s plenty, and that is what we are going to look into in this article. Chill In The CountryIf you want to go inland a little and have some time away from the beaches, there is still plenty to see of that variety, and it’s worth remembering that there is so much beautiful Australian countryside to visit. Something that might surprise you if you visit somewhere like Montville in Queensland is just how green it can be - whereas most people will tend to expect a much drier and browner look. Similarly, if you find yourself spending a few nights in Wyndham Ridge Hunter Valley in NSW, you’ll be amazed at the sheer natural beauty of the fields and forests. This is the perfect kind of destination to go to if you want to just escape all the noise, so it’s worth remembering next time you go to the Australian continent.
Get A Slice Of Island LifeIt’s important to remember too that Australia is about much more than its mainland - even though you could spend years exploring that and still never see it all. There are also a number of smaller islands around the main continent which you can go to see, and many of them offer a beautiful slice of Australian life which you might not have been expecting. A great example of the kind of island you might want to visit is Fraser Island, which is small enough to explore in a couple of days and yet offers enough variation that you are unlikely to get bored. If you want to go scuba diving or snorkeling, that is a pretty good place to do so - and it is a sleepy island with some friendly locals to boot. Visit The World’s Finest ZooIf you go to Queensland, you will have the opportunity to visit the rather boldly titled Australia Zoo, arguably the greatest zoo anywhere on planet Earth. Initially set up by Steve Irwin, this zoo is still run by his surviving family, and it is one place where you can see animals from every continent on earth. What's more, it is conservation zoo, so you don’t have to feel bad about visiting it either. It’s well worth a look if you are in the area, and it’s like an experience you won’t forget.
