How long has it been since you and your loved one went off for a vacation? If you’re looking for a perfect romantic getaway, this fascinating country has so much to offer. From long sandy beaches with great ocean waves, secluded bays and lagoons, dense rainforests with fascinating flora and fauna, impressive landscapes with cliffs and canyons, even to ski resorts. To make your choice a little easier, we provide you with a list of some perfect destinations you should check out. Hunter Valley, New South Wales
This renowned wine region is located just two hours’ drive north of Sydney. If you want to spend your vacation tasting quality food and sipping fine wine, this is the right destination for you. This region is famous for its Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay that can all be sampled in some of the many cozy cellar doors.
Travelling through the valley, you’ll encounter a picturesque landscape filled with vineyards, charming cottages and houses, rivers, and hummocks. You can spend your day on a picnic on the banks of the Paterson or the Allyn rivers, dine in some of the many great restaurants, or enjoy in the mountain view and the sunset on a hot air balloon ride.
Cradle Mountains, Tasmania
If you want to escape the real life and relish the wilderness, you should try out this spot. This is one of Tasmania’s key attractions. You can go hiking on the Overland Track to explore all sides of Tasmania: steep mountains, moderate rainforests, fast-flowing mountain rivers, beautiful Dove Lake, etc. One of the most famous attractions of this track are the two rocky towers, named “The Gates of Mordor” from "The Lord of the Rings".
You’ll most probably meet wallabies, possums and wombats on your exploration, and if you prefer snow, visit this destination between July and September. Byron Bay, New South Wales
This subtropical paradise is the ultimate romantic destination for you and your partner. You can enjoy in golden beaches, such as Wategos, Clarkes and Main beach; bushwalks in the backcountry rainforest, a stunning ocean view on the walking track to the Cape Byron and its lighthouse, or surfing and snorkeling to explore the rich underwater flora and fauna.
Imagine waking up next to your loved one in a beautiful romantic Byron Bay accommodation. Choose a calm oasis with spa, great service, and of course, great dining. Spend your afternoons enjoying your time by the pool listening to the birds sing from the surrounding forest and the large waves crashing onto the nearby ocean shore.
Fraser Island, Queensland
This tropical heaven is situated around 300 km north of Brisbane. This is the largest sand island in the world, and has some of the most beautiful sceneries you could only imagine.
You can swim in the Champagne Pools, a natural jacuzzi on the eastern side of the island. Large ocean waves crash among the holes in the rocks making the water fizzy with each blow. Or you can swim, float, or walk in the fast crystal clear Eli Creek, all the way to its confluence into the ocean on the beautiful sandy beach. Some other attractions include numerous sandy beaches all across the island, perched lakes like Lake McKenzie and Lake Wabby, impressive rainforests, and beautiful cliffs, like the Indian Head. Cable Beach, Western Australia
If you want to meet the mystical part of Australia, travel to the northwest. Kimberley region is home to a dramatic landscape with stunning rock formations, gorges and rugged mountains, and the beautiful Cable Beach.
Cable Beach is a 22 kilometers long sandy beach next to Broome, WA. There are many reasons why this dream place is a perfect destination for your romantic vacation. The breathtaking sunset provides a beautiful mix of colors and “The Staircase to the Moon” phenomena which you can experience if you visit this place between March and October. For an ultimate romantic experience, go for a camel back ride along the beach with your darling.
Whether you’re looking for an escapist atmosphere of wild rainforests, mountain hikes, and dreamy beaches, or you want to meet local people, culture and history, Australia is a perfect place to spend a romantic vacation with your loved one. We hope our little list will bring you closer to the vacation of your dreams.
