The UAE or the United Arab Emirates is an alliance of seven independent city-states, namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al-Qaiwain, and Ra’s al-Khaimah. It has become one of the major destinations for people looking for a job to get admitted into the best school or colleges, for vacation, for business, and more. No matter what the reason, you will be required to submit certified credentials before you travel to the UAE. One of the steps of the process is to get your documents attested to prove its authenticity and validity.
For those who are not familiar with the process of attestation for UAE, the process can be challenging. Thus, it is best to hire a professional service provider to get it done quickly and in a hassle-free manner. But first, you need to make yourself informed about the process of attestation. To verify your documents, you will need to go through the process called UAE Embassy attestation or legalization. The documents will go through many different departments for attestation. There are different procedures followed to get documents attested from UAE Embassy, depending on the nature of the document and the purpose.
Generalized Process for Attestation for UAE
The process of document attestation for UAE is carried out in different stages. In 2019, the entire process was decentralized by the MEA to the Branch Secretariats and the local RPOs. The procedure for attestation is quite a standard one but can vary depending on the type of documents and the state where the documents originated. A generalized process for the documents is given below
At the Regional Level
It is the starting point of the attestation process. For educational documents, you need to get the document verified by the notary or the University where the documents were issued. In the case of commercial documents, the verification needs to be performed by the Chamber of Commerce.
At the State Level
Depending on the nature of the document, the next step would be to get the documents verified from three different organizations at the state level. The three departments are the State Home Department, Human Resource Department, and the Sub-Divisional magistrate. Even though SDM is an independent organization, its verification is considered to be on the state level.
Get MEA Stamp
The last stage of the authentication process from the home government is to get an MEA stamp from the Ministry of External Affairs. It is the central government organization responsible for foreign affairs of the country.
The officials at the UAE Embassy in the home country will verify and attest to the documents. For most countries, this is the final stage of the attestation process.
The documents will be sent to the UAE and get attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before being returned to India.
The time needed for the entire process will depend on several factors. But, it can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a month for it to be completed, as long as there are no unnecessary delays.
What is the Best Way to Get Documents Attested for UAE?
While you can easily get your documents attested for UAE on your own, it can be cumbersome. If your documents are not in order, they would be sent back, and it will delay the process further. Thus, it is best to hire an attestation service provider for UAE Embassy Attestation. Since you will have to submit your original documents for attestation, it is crucial to choose an experienced and legitimate provider so that your documents are safe at all times. They will also ensure that the attestation is done by authorized departments to avoid fraud or any legal issues.
