Featuring frenetic cities where surprises lurk around every corner, tropical islands with white sands and a mind-blowing food scene to tantalise your tastebuds, Asia is the pinnacle of surprising travel. Visitors can take a break from the stresses of the 9-5 by relaxing in a hammock on an island, or else get their pulses racing on an adventurous river activity or hair-raising tuk tuk ride through the backstreets of a manic new town. The key to visiting Asia is to both approach it with an open mind, yet also to make sure you’re ready for what waits in store. Doing some research is a great first step, allowing you to prepare both logistically and mentally for the holiday of a lifetime! To help, we’ve listed five of our favourite spots on the continent for a break.

On display in Singapore from January 13 to June 3rd 2018 at the ArtScience Museum in Singapore is the 'Art From The Streets' exhibition.
Wonderfully curated by Magda Danysz the exhibition features many artworks by pioneers and prolific artists within the street art community. This includes a large collection of works by Shepard Fairey (Obey), a piece by Banksy, plus many works by various artists created exclusively for the exhibition. A selection of photos captured during my first visit to Singapore.
Singapore, the pearl of Southeast Asia.
The colourful streets of Clarke Quay.
Plus, a public service announcement regarding some seriously spicy tacos. The perfect location for my maiden visit to Singapore.
Quiet by day and energetic by night, historical Boat Quay is located by the city centre, alongside the Southbank of the Singapore River.
If you're a backpacker and looking for a party hostel in Singapore... locating yourself at a hostel positioned close to the Prince of Wales Backpacker Pub in either Boat Quay or Little India, in my opinion, is your best bet.
I've mentioned Singapore's Prince of Wales Backpacker Pub in several of my previous posts, so it seems only fair I allocate a post to the pub and provide a little bit of further information; especially if there any party hostel seeking backpackers travelling to Singapore City.
What sort of mess do I get myself into? - I had found myself drinking at Orchard Tower, Singapore's infamous "Four Floors of Whores.” I had the entire cruise to myself for the 40-minute duration.
A look into Singapore River Cruises "the Tale of 2 Quays" river experience;
- Includes photos and tour information - One of the top 3 landmarks in Singapore (voted on TripAdvisor), Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay is home to the OCBC Skyway and 12 of Singapore's 18 supertrees. Twice per night staging the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show.
Singapore: Gardens by the Bay - Supertree Grove and the OCBC Skyway.
Inside the Cloud Forest dome, a 35-metre tall mountain is featured covered in lush tropical plants and serves as the world's tallest indoor waterfall.
A photo diary of my visit to the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay and the Orchid Extravaganza floral exhibition.
There I am, walking through Singapore City, lost, at 7:00 AM, with bare feet and wearing last night's dress - I looked like the dirtiest of dirty stop-outs.
Sometimes, when overseas, I find myself in some random situations and starting this trip off in Singapore, proved no exception.
Stories in Part 1 and Part 2 centre around the great people I encountered at the Prince of Wales Backpacker Pub in Boat Quay, Singapore City, and the and misadventures that subsequently occurred after the bar closed each night at 1 AM. Once you go private cube, I don't think you can go back.
A review of my first experience in cube/ pod accommodation, plus information regarding the Port by Quarters hostel in Boat Quay and how to travel there via MRT from Changi Airport.
Singapore: Jetstar Flight JQ 007 Review and Landing at Changi International Airport (Video)21/8/2017
Video of Jetstar Flight JQ 007 landing at Singapore's Changi International Airport. Plus a quick review of my first experience flying internationally from Melbourne, on the low-cost airline, Jetstar.
