A collection of photos taken at Senggigi beach while enjoying the atmosphere at Warung Paradiso in Lombok, Indonesia.
Having to postpone my trip to Gili until early next year due to methanol poisoning in Kuta, I ended up catching the ferry from Padang Bai, Bali, bypassing Gili and heading straight over to Lombok. When reaching the island, several drivers were waiting at the harbour for new arrivals. I found a driver, and we set off towards, Senggigi, a beachside town north of Mataram, the location of my hotel.
On the way my driver, Mul, suggested we stop off for a few drinks at Warung Paradiso, a beach hut restaurant and bar nestled away from the main road about 5 minutes drive to my hotel. Who knows if he was receiving a commission for this detour, but either way, I was happy we went there, it was a great place and my first introduction to the beautiful black sandy beaches of Senggigi. We ended up sitting there in the sun, soaking up the atmosphere and drinking 14 beers over the course of a few hours. I loved this bar so much that I suggested we go back there the next day for a swim at the beach and a drink after seeing some of the sites around Mataram.
Warung Paradiso along Senggigi beach is the perfect location to grab some food, have some drinks and go for a swim (but possibly not in that order). I highly recommend this place whenever visiting Senggigi and I hope to find myself there again one day in the near future.
